Adam and I got married in May 2017 and so we thought we would write a honeymoon blog on tour.

The sort of place you tell everyone about but begrudgingly because really you want to keep it to yourself. @josserrestaurant is some of the best food in the county at the moment and the Sunday lunch is sublime. This Greek style lamb was cooked on an open fire and came with a gravy come tagine sauce that I would have happily drank if I didn’t have an amazing paloma already. What’s more the restaurant is situated in St Michael’s park in Cirencester so it’s perfectly kid friendly, our son played happily with the other guests between courses. There will naturally be many more visits to come.

An absolutely delicious Sunday lunch from @josserr

An absolutely delicious Sunday lunch from @josserrestaurant. First time I have had pork knuckle and it was spot on. If you haven’t been before you are missing out on delicious food and a really relaxing, social vibe. Great for kids as well with the park right outside (sorry for the shots including baby wipes).

The best day of the year so far…..the day the @old_neighbourhood_inn reopened. After years of being deprived of our neighbourhood pub it finally opened and we were able to enjoy our first pint. Wes and the team @birch_catering have done an absolutely incredible job restoring it and we have so enjoyed having numerous drinks and sampling tasty food pop ups in the sunny garden.

I by no means took enough photos of our delicious meal @juliet49londonrdstroud as I was too hungry and enthusiastic. Absolutely loved the amazing range of aperitifs and great value wines. The food was delicious and full of classic simple flavours and good quality oils. The steak tartar and crab were stand outs for me particularly the vinaigrette across the crab and bitter leaves. What a day with @tubbytoms @tubbysbbq_ and @mcbagleybbq. Loved every second. Sooooo much food. Soooo much knowledge. Soooo much to admire.

If you get a chance to do this BBQ course, do it. It was great fun, well organised but relaxed. Filling and delicious didn’t do it justice. Home BBQs will never be the same.

Long, cold, foggy drive but always worth it for ou

Long, cold, foggy drive but always worth it for our annual @thenewtinsomerset Christmas lunch. I really do love it here, the food is amazing and there is so much to do. This time I went to their Roman villa experience and I have to say it was one of the best museums I have been to.

I had the beef carpaccio and lamb from the lunch menu and both were genuinely melt in the mouth. I don’t usually like camomile but the camomile poached pear was absolutely divine. Can’t wait until my next trip.

A couple of weeks ago we were lucky enough to get

A couple of weeks ago we were lucky enough to get into @thebanktavern with some friends who'd booked....a very long time ago. There were nine of us and we had the private room upstairs.

The room was great, as was the service. Even better though...the food. Less than £30 for a three course Sunday lunch (in late July 2023) and what you get is worthy of more.

You can see the beef in the first image, slightly pink and accompanied by all the usual bits, just really, really perfectly done. There are also photos of two of the starters, the duck and the prawns. And lastly, two of the desserts, Crème Brulé and Chocolate Torte with mascarpone ice cream.

It's going to be hard to recommend The Bank Tavern for Sunday lunch, but only because of the waiting list...but of course, they do food in the week and on Saturdays too....and if it's anything like Sunday lunch it'll be well worth it. We promise.

Couldn’t decide what to have so went for two starters although the pasta was huge so felt like a main. Had a few cheeky scoops of ice cream as well but devoured those before I remembered to take a photo. Lovely little place for a mid week bite to eat.

What a fantastic haul from @todenhammanor. We went for 2 huge steaks, sausages, ham, pork belly slices and a selection of sauces.

Can't wait to dig into some of this.....over a few days of course.

Todenham Manor Farm staff are amazing and their customer service is fantastic. A very small issue we had with the courier was dealt with extremely quickly and we can't thank them enough.

We'll be back soon guys!

Lunch for 1 @theboot_barnsley meant I could get what I wanted and order little light bites before a spa afternoon treat. Really enjoyed the monkfish scampi and the steak tartare with mustard sauce and game chips was incredible. The staff were also really friendly and there was a really relaxing atmosphere that made for great lazy lunch.

Can't wait to dig into this coffee and walnut whirl in front of the fire. Get down to Scrumptious Coffee Shop today for lunch, coffee and cake. 🥰

Incredible dinner @theponynorthstreet last night.

Incredible dinner @theponynorthstreet last night. We recently supported the @theponychewvalley Kickstarter and chose as our reward a 5 course dinner at their Bistro in central Bristol. You enter the restaurant from @bristolbeerfactory so stopped off for a quick pint before sitting down for our meal. It’s a set price menu for 4 courses usually and for that you get snacks, starter, main and dessert. The salty slow cooked braised ox cheek was perfect with a rum cocktail and the crab and pickled celery was really refreshing. This was followed by game terrine with my favourite celeriac remoulade and a delicious mackerel parfait on sourdough. The steak was smothered in a rich blue cheese butter with crispy potatoes and the creedy carver duck came with the most amazing smoked pear purée. Best dish of the night however was the most incredible tiramisu made with the milk Stroud and barley from the brewery next door it was like tiramisu mixed with Horlicks and if @theponynorthstreet would like to share the recipe I would be much obliged 😂.

I think the bistro is only open until the end of the year so get in quick for an amazing value, delicious lunch or dinner.
