It’s always nice to see a shop expand in size. The next door unit becomes available, knock a wall down and boom – more floor space… winner. Bargain Booze on Bath Road, Cheltenham seems to be doing the opposite. It seems to shrink every time I go in (which is rarely). The funky cafe next door seems to have eaten more in to Bargain Booze’s own space meaning that the selection of booze has reduced. I was lucky to save these ales at 3 for £5 before Bargain Booze became a window kiosk.
Two Hoots [Joseph Holt] 4.2%
Golden in colour with a deep integrity-filled taste, Two Hoots is fresh, fruity with a light hint of bitterness. Easy and delightful. Thumbs up.
Waggle Dance [Wells] 5%
Gold in colour with honey aromas, Waggle Dance is widely available and popular, but perhaps not as smooth as others on the shelf.
The Golden Beer [Wainwright] 4.1%
More session than the rest, the smooth Golden Beer offers a clean and refreshing taste without being too heavy. This brew certainly deserves it’s handful of awards.
